Client Types and our Agreement

Commitment?

For any work I do, I first make a commitment to the work on a Client Service Agreement.    You review the document and I make any needed changes to help you be confident I’ve make sure I state exactly what you need done.

Engagement types?

Both short term and longer.   I like to take my time with a client to make sure I’ve covered all the details, but sometimes clients need answers fast.

My client service agreement defines your right to terminate the engagement at any time.   You’re not stuck if you’re not happy with our progress.

How do I charge?

I charge a fee, and usually bill by the quarter only if you are satisfied.

There’s no charge for the first meeting, where we figure out what work is to be done and how much the fee will be.

I don’t charge any of my clients right now by the hour.   It creates too much uncertainty what the bill would be.

I don’t charge based on the assets you place under my management.

My fees are much less than what a stock brokerage typically charges to develop a financial plan.  Plus they charge you commissions and I don’t.

Typical client?

I have various client types and ages.   Here are some investor personality profiles and how I work with them.

Asset minimums?

None.    I am happy to provide service to anyone who needs it.    I do not require you to have a minimum net worth or investible assets.

Fee only means I don’t get any commission, 12b-1 “marketing fee” kickbacks, or any other compensation except for the fee I charge you.   This means I have zero incentive to steer you to investments that would provide me income.   (Fee based advisors can charge commissions.  I cannot.)

Still wondering if you’re right for me?
G
ive me a call.   I will be happy to chat if it doesn’t kick over to voicemail.

The Financial Planning Process

I follow the CFP Board’s Practice Standards, or any applicable subset for the work you need done.   This process is the best way to ensure you get the best guidance possible.
